Claude Lefebvre was born in Belleterre, Temiscamingue. He has always felt priviledged for having grown up in this very particular village surrounded by two communities of the Quebec Algonquian nation. From an early age, he has been sensitive to Algonquins spirituality and has discovered different life styles which he adheres passionately. He embodies in meaningful native insights given to earth, water, trees and especially animals living on the territory. He also relies on an inexhaustive inspiration that has guided him through his entire work.

At fourteen years of age, he introduced himself to sculpture by first carving with a regular knife. As years went by, amateurs would catch sight of a hundred of his animal creations. Then he studied and worked at Jean-Julien Bourgeault school of sculpture in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli. From that moment an important series of exhibitions compel recognition.

He slowly turned himself to human portrayal. He then made busts of native leaders from which exude pride and determination. A training period in Europe would push his artistic knowledge to perfection, After twenty-five years of wood carving, he has his first bronze casted. The quality of his creations is outstanding. His work involves many different kinds of research; biographical, historical and observational allowing indentification and setting the caracter in his own time and age. He brings scenes to life to acknowledge native true historical background.

In his never ending quest for perfection in material and texture imitation, the ensemble of the artist's creations take path towards figurative style. All agree on acknowledging Lefevbre's talent by means of his marvellous work. Hosting the celebration of life through bronze, one must praise for the magnificence of his Native American and Inuit creations.
